Each chimp has its own personality and whilst there is a message in each of his works, ultimately, they mean whatever the viewer interprets them to mean. There are a multitude of characters in his repertoire, some chimps are satirical, taking themselves or ‘objects’ too seriously, some are nostalgic and remind us of previous times, whilst others are just fun, and cheer us up with a saying that has significance to us.
