They made successful first ascents of Mount Tatum, a peak that they named Mount Staghorn, and one that they named Pegasus Peak (in honour of the emblem of British airborne forces), and also got to within 200 feet of the summit on a peak they called Anniversary Peak. The book “tells of the excitement and boredom, of dangers, discomforts and fatigue….how men react when nerves are frayed beyond endurance and and tempers are ready to snap”.
