Description Ingredients Povidone-Iodine (10% w/w, 1.0% available iodine): This active ingredient is known for its antimicrobial properties, providing an effective barrier against a wide spectrum of pathogens. Non-Adherent Knitted Viscose Fabric: Ensures comfort and easy removal without causing trauma to the wound site. Application For Adults and Children over 6 years: Preparation: Clean the wound area gently with sterile water or saline solution. Application: Open the sterile package and apply the Inadine Dressing directly onto the wound. Cover with a secondary dressing if required. Frequency of Change: Replace the dressing when the iodine colour fades, typically every 1-3 days. In highly exuding wounds, more frequent changes may be necessary. For Children under 6 years: Consult a healthcare professional before use. Side Effects Skin Irritation: Some individuals may experience localised irritation or hypersensitivity reactions such as redness, itching, or rash. Allergic Reactions: Rarely, individuals may develop a severe allergic reaction to iodine. Symptoms include swelling, severe redness, and difficulty breathing. Discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention if these occur. Warnings Thyroid Disorders: Patients with thyroid disorders should use Inadine Dressings with caution due to the iodine content. Prolonged use can affect thyroid function. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Use under medical supervision as iodine can cross the placenta and be secreted in breast milk. Long-Term Use: Prolonged use is not recommended without medical advice due to the risk of iodine absorption and potential thyroid dysfunction. Interactions Lithium Therapy: Iodine can potentiate the effects of lithium, leading to an increased risk of hypothyroidism. Topical Enzymes and Silver Products: Avoid simultaneous use with enzyme debriding agents or silver-containing dressings as iodine can inactivate these products. Additional Information Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Disposal: Dispose of used dressings in accordance with local regulations. Do not flush down the toilet. Directions for Use Ensure hands are clean before handling the dressing. Gently clean the wound and surrounding area. Apply the Inadine Dressing directly to the wound. Cover with an appropriate secondary dressing. Monitor the wound regularly and change the dressing when necessary. When to Seek Medical Advice If there is no improvement in the wound condition after a week of use. If signs of infection such as increased redness, swelling, or pus are present. If you experience any severe side effects or signs of an allergic reaction.
