Herbert Carr (1896-1986) had a lifelong passion for mountaineering and was a member of the Alpine Club, Rucksack Club and Climbers Club, saw active service in two world wars, and published a number of books on mountaineering. The production of this volume, the third in the series of Climbers’ Guides to the Snowdon region, followed the earlier Climbs on Lliwedd (1909) by Archer Thomson and Andrews, and Climbing in the Ogwen District (1910) by Archer Thomson.
